As a structural engineer, Lin Zhu has been exposed to a variety of construction materials including masonry, wood, light gauge, steel and concrete. Her experience includes analysis and design of schools, retail buildings, office buildings and residential complexes. She has also worked on the evaluation, analysis and design of many existing structures. Lin strives for excellence and efficiency in her engineering deliverables and well-roundedness as an engineering professional.
Lin received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from UC Berkeley. Lin’s passion for structural engineering initiated from an interest in architecture. She aims to use her expertise to collaborate with architects and to facilitate the evolvement of an architecturally challenging structure.
Lin has participated in the ACE mentor program to share knowledge and to encourage high school students in the Bay Area to pursue their interests in architecture, construction and engineering. Lin has completed ATC-20 Post earthquake safety Evaluation of buildings training and volunteered to help in a post-seismic event.
Lin has many hobbies outside of the office including hot yoga and skating on weekends. She also loves to go on road trips with friends and explore new places.
